March 2025 Meeting and Events
Hello everyone, we hope you all are having a great spring semester as well as a fun and relaxing spring break! We have a lot planned this month! On Tuesday, March 18th, you will get the opportunity to explore the history and importance of loupes at Enova! RSVP for this event ASAP on our instagram, @umn_predental_club. On Friday, March 21st, we are holding a "Soap Carving Social" event with surrounding colleges and UMN School of Dentistry students. This will be a great opportunity to come hangout with group members and to ask questions! Finally, on Thursday, March 27th, we will be hosting Dr. Fong, a board certified pediatric dentist to give insight on her career and specialty as a whole! February 2025 Meeting and Events
Hello everyone, we hope you are having a great start to your spring semester! This month, we have a meeting right away on Tuesday, February 4th, from 7:30-8:30 pm. We are welcoming Susie Wold, the assistant director of admissions at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Susie will discuss the qualities of a strong applicant, the application process, and what makes a standout application. This is a great opportunity to gain insight into what to expect when applying to dental school! On Thursday, February 6th, from 12:00-1:00 pm, we will be holding a social event in order to assemble dental hygiene bags and cards for the children at GKAS. If you signed up to volunteer for Give Kids a Smile on February 8th, make sure to check your email for your assigned time and place.
On Monday, February 10th, join us to learn basic skills in digital dentistry! We are meeting in Bruininks Hall 114 from 7:30-8:30 PM. Everyone will have the chance to digitally design their own Tryin Denture. All our welcome to attend! Prior to the meeting, please download the free software "Meshmixer" to your computer, and make sure to bring that computer with you to the event. If you have any troubles, come early to the event and we can help you out!
On Friday, February 28th, join us for an immersive Virtual Reality Event! This even will be held in HSEC, room 5-132, from 3:30-4:30 PM. We will have human anatomy simulations, VR video games, and patient perspective simulations! This is a great experience and an awesome time to hangout with your friends and other club members! You can sign up for this event through the QR code posted on our Instagram, @umn_predental_club.
January 2025 Meeting and Events
Hello everyone, we hope you all had a great winter break! We are excited to start up our meetings and events! Before we start off, this is the new website for the UMN Pre-Dental Club. Everything from the old website will be displayed here and will continue to be updated throughout the semester. The old website will not be updated! On Saturday, January 25th, we are holding an impression taking workshop in Bruininks 114. Then on January 3oth, David De Jong is presenting a lecture on Fluoride from 7-8 p.m. in PWB 3-150/3-152. We hope you all can make it and we look forward to seeing you and catching up! Good luck with your semester!
